The UNI-T UT278A earthing pliers belong to a higher class in terms of technology and accuracy and have the most functions from the UT270 series. It can quickly and safely measure the earthing system without disconnecting the lightning conductor terminals from the circuit ground and also without the need for auxiliary electrodes. It can measure resistance from 0.01 Ω to 1200Ω and leakage currents from 0 mA to 30A. Current measurement should only be performed on ground cables, not on power cables, as this could affect the magnetic properties of the clamp terminals and thus the accuracy of the resistance measurement. The magnetic circuit of the jaws contains the voltage and current loop of the measuring transformer. Resistance is measured by induction of a voltage with a frequency of ＞ 1kHz from the internal generator to the ground line. It is possible to set an optical and acoustic alarm for current and resistance limits. It contains a memory storage for 99 sets of measurements. The device is designed for use in explosive and flammable environments for measuring the earthing systems of filling stations, refineries, oil fields, as well as in energy, telecommunications, construction and industrial plants with electrical equipment.
