The solar inverter is used to power heating devices such as electric boilers, heaters, heating mats, electric direct heaters, etc. directly from photovoltaic panels without the use of battery storage.

Allows you to connect two heating appliances, for example two boilers. Both will heat up at the same time. Thanks to the use of MPPT technology, it maximizes the use of energy from photovoltaic panels and automatically adapts to the consumption of the appliance.

What distinguishes the GREEN BOOST PRO 4000 SINUS BYPASS solar inverter?

Multifunctionality (BYPASS) - the inverter can be connected to both solar panels and the electrical network.

Pure SINE - the inverter creates a "sine" voltage at its output. In this way, it can power induction appliances such as power tools, air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, etc.

Input voltage 120 to 500V DC.
Output voltage 70 to 245V AC / 50Hz.
Maximum power 4000W.
The voltage curve is a pure sine wave.

How does the VOLT GREEN BOOST 4000 inverter work?

Direct current produced by solar panels is not suitable for direct powering of heating devices. An inverter converts it to alternating current that can be used to power heating devices. The panels must be connected in series with a total Vmp (no-load voltage) of up to 500 V. Imp current is 10A.

The GREEN BOOST PRO 4000 SINUS BYPASS solar inverter has an internal maximum protection power of 4kW, the total power of the panels should not exceed 4kW.

Both sockets work simultaneously with a power of up to 4 kW (in total). Green Boost allows you to connect two heating appliances, for example two boilers. Both will heat up at the same time.

2 modes of operation

STABLE mode - the output voltage is 230V AC (50Hz) and is maintained when sufficient power is obtained from the solar panels. If the output from the panels is too low, the device will not supply power to the outlet sockets.

MPPT mode - the output voltage can oscillate between 70-245V AC (50Hz), so at low power from the solar panels (weak sunlight) it will supply power to the output sockets from 70V AC.

Description of the system and the two outputs

The system is very simple and functional. Photovoltaic panels are needed, which will be connected in series and their total direct current voltage (DC) will be in the range from 120V to 500V and a maximum power of 4000W.

When the voltage from the photovoltaic panels is detected, the inverter turns on automatically. This will be confirmed by the LED indicator.

After connecting the voltage from the photovoltaic installation (120 V - 500 V DC), the inverter checks the presence of consumers. Both sockets can work simultaneously. This allows you to connect and operate two heating devices up to a maximum system power of 4000W.

Thanks to the implemented MPPT function, the inverter automatically adapts to the performance of the heater and sets its operating point so that the energy received from the photovoltaic panel system is maximum.

In addition, the device has internal protection of the maximum power, which is 4kW (the total power of the panels should not exceed 4kW).

LED display

The Green Boost inverter is equipped with an LED display that informs the user about the parameters of the PV installation:

SOLAR STATUS – when the PV voltage is greater than 80% of the nominal voltage of the device, the indicator lights up. Otherwise it will flash
PRIMARY OUTPUT - lit when socket 1 is operational
SECONDARY OUTPUT - lights up when outlet 2 is functional
PV VOLTAGE – actual PV input voltage
PV CURRENT – current PV input current
OUTPUT VOLTAGE – status of the output voltage, displays the current output voltage of the converter
MPPT MODE - Illuminates when the MPPT operating mode is selected
OVER HEAT – lights up when the device overheats
SYSTEM FAULT – lights up when the PV voltage is too high, or the inverter is not working properly (steady light), or warns of overload (flashing light)

How many photovoltaic panels do I need?

When choosing photovoltaic solar panels, follow several principles. If you choose the type and number of panels, if you have fewer panels with a higher voltage, if more panels with a lower voltage. Caution - do not underestimate surge protection, DC disconnector, fuse protection and grounding.

The total output of the panels should be approximately the same or higher than the power input of the coil in the boiler. It is important not to overload the coil with high voltage.

At lower power, everything will work as well, but the chances of full heating purely from the panels on cloudy days will be reduced. Especially in winter.

Choose the number of panels (connected in series/in a row) such that the panels in total provide approximately the voltage of the spiral.

6 pcs of 450Wp panels are often used, which provide approx. 42V at maximum power
(6x42V = 252V, 6x450W = 2700W)

Maximum on the voltage of the panels (Vmax) without load (no-load voltage – Voc) must not exceed the maximum permissible input voltage of the inverter even in cold weather, when the voltage is noticeably higher!
