Optical detector (photoelectric) powered by a lithium battery (built-in, immutable), which guarantees power supply for 10 years.
The device has been designed in a small, compact and modern design with a HUSH function to temporarily silence the detector in case of a false alarm. The detector is designed for continuous monitoring of the air for the presence of smoke and fire, with the possibility to be located near the kitchen or bathroom.

In the event of a fire, an acoustic signal of 85 dB is automatically triggered, and the device also signals the alarm visually (by indicating the red LED). The fire detector is also equipped with a TEST button to check the correct functioning of the equipment.

Pressing the HUSH button will immediately deactivate the alarm for about 10 minutes, reduce the sensitivity of the circuits and turn off the acoustic alarm. After about 10 minutes of deactivation of the detector, the detector is automatically reset to the original fire hazard monitoring setting.

At the end of its service life (after 10 years), the device will automatically notify you when it needs to be replaced.

The fire detector is equipped with a special lock to prevent accidental disassembly of the appliance by children or third parties.

Battery operation allows quick and easy installation and ensures proper operation of the detector for 10 years after activation. The battery is activated when the detector is first placed in the mounting bracket.

Approval

Kidde 10Y29 uses advanced photoelectric (optical) imaging technology and is independently tested to meet all European standards. Of course there is both CE certificate and approval according to ČSN, EN 14604: 2005 and CPD. Designed for installation into new buildings according to Decree 23/2008 Coll. Decree on technical conditions of fire protection of buildings.

At least one fire detector should be installed on each floor of the house, in front of each sleeping area or in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms.

Functional fire detector provides immediate warning of smoke or fire in the house, doubling the chances of survival of all persons in the house.

There are many different types of fire detectors with different functions for their easy operation. Kidde recommends installing both ionizing and photoelectric detectors to ensure maximum detection of the various types of fire that may occur in your home.

Fire detection technology
Traditionally, 3 types of sensors are used for home fire and smoke detectors:

OPTICAL DETECTORS are more effective for detecting slow burning, which can cause several hours of smoldering before the flames burn.

IONIZATION TYPES OF FIRE DETECTORS are generally more effective for detecting fast-burning fires that rapidly spread and absorb flammable materials.

HEAT DETECTORS start when the room temperature reaches the set value (usually 56 ° C). These detectors are usually used in places where other types of detectors are not suitable.

Recommended location of fire detector: near kitchen, living room, dining room, bedroom, hallway, boiler room, cellar, attic, attic, for rooms and high ceiling areas or wherever limited access to the detector is foreseen.

Testing
