Monocrystalline cell: for the production of a monocrystalline cell, a uniform quartz crystal ingot must be produced. Such production is quite demanding. The round ingot is then cut into so-called wafers, which are cut to the required size of the PV cell. Because the ingot was formed as one large crystal of silicon, its structure is uniform and very pure.
