Official camera module for Raspberry Pi with no infrared filter in version 2. Pi NoIR is a standard camera module with one difference: it does not have an infrared filter. (NoIR = No Infrared.) Pictures taken with the NoIR camera in daylight will look very unusual. But you get the night vision capability (if you use infrared illumination). The camera works with all Raspberry Pi models that have a camera CSI connector and can be accessed via the MMAL and V4L APIs. There are also a number of unofficial libraries including the Picamara Python library. Along with the NoIR module, a blue gel square is also available, which you can use with the camera to monitor the health of green plants. Pi NoIR is very popular among wildlife lovers: with several infrared LEDs you can monitor the nightlife of animals without disturbing them with visible light. The camera module is used for example in home security or as a wildcard photopast.
