Automatic light on only works in the dark. It won't turn on under bright light and during the day. There are 2 magnetic strips on the back. One equipped with double-sided adhesive tape and the other fixed in the light. The sensor night light can be easily attached, for example, to a closet, shelf, bed frame, staircase, under the kitchen counter, etc. Powered by 4xAAA micro-pencil alkaline batteries (not included in the package).
